Pelerin Palace

Pelerin Palace is a 5-star superior luxury hotel residence on the Vaud Riviera, located on Chemin de l’Hôtel du Parc n°5 in Mont-Pèlerin in the municipality of Chardonne, on the shores of Lake Geneva in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.
 
Opened on June 3, 1907, the building, visible from the entire region, permanently modified the Veveysan landscape; he gave a significant international attendance to the village of Mont-Pèlerin. The building is classified as a historic Swiss heritage building.

Style and architecture

The residence amazes both by the size of its roof of more than 20m and by its belle époque style. The restored walls, beams, mirrors and woodwork reflect a Belle Époque vibe of that glittering age.

History

Built between 1902 and 1907 on the initiative of Henri Fatio, a Geneva-based entrepreneur who attracted investors from Vevey, the Pelerin Palace opened its doors on 3 June 1907 in a Belle-Epoque style.
 
The establishment took advantage of the opening of the Vevey – Chardonne funicular in 1900, facilitating the development of the place as a seaside resort.

The original building suffered extensive damage as a result of a fire on April 29, 1917, causing the destruction of the roof and the bankruptcy of the hotel.
 
It will reopen in 1923, under a new owner, it becomes the Hotel du Parc, then continued to be run and cherished by the same family for 5 generations.

In 1936 it reopened its doors as a hotel, becoming the Hotel Du Parc until 2001. Over the years, it has hosted many international congresses. It was notably the seat of the creation of the think tank of the Société du Mont-Pelerin in 1947.
 
In 2002 the hotel became the Business School Chardonne, an international business school.
